My first JLCPCB

I ordered my first PCB from JLCPCB — just a simple board to connect a 1-wire device to a Raspberry Pi, but the whole experience blew me away. I first heard about them through Ichiken, a Japanese tech YouTuber.

The price and speed were remarkable — five boards for $4.80 ($2.34 + $2.46 shipping), delivered in five days.

I went ahead and soldered the components right away. PCB with soldered components Close-up of soldered components on the PCB

It looked exactly like the KiCad 3D viewer preview — spot on. KiCad 3D viewer preview of the PCB

I was a bit worried about the pin socket placement, but it fit the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W perfectly. PCB connected to Raspberry Pi Zero 2W

Honestly, with the low cost, fast turnaround, and high precision — it just makes more sense than messing around with a perfboard.
